Happy Thanksgiving! to all my American friends.

And to everyone on my flist, I am thankful for you for all the fun, laughs, and support you give me. Thanks for playing along!

I'm spending the day at my cousin Jennifer's with my dad's family. (It is a HUGE family. Catholics--bah!) My mother made pumpkin pies, and I made an apple one. Erin (future sister-in-law) is making stuffing.

What is everyone else doing? What sort of yummy goodies are you making/looking forward to?

We are having a very laid back affair. I bought pecan pie from Costco - and it's GOOD. Going to a friends' house where we will eat, drink and be merry. My kind of day. :)

By my lonesome... reading a book, finishing Christmas cards, finishing Merlin holiday fic and already ate some pecan pie. Might make pumpkin bread later.

Happy Thanksgiving! That picture is making me hungry already. :/

I'm spending my morning making pretzel bread and hunting down sage and rosemary, since that somehow got left off the list of Things We Need for Thanksgiving Turkey. Then I'm having dinner at my friend's place downtown, where I will attempt to make a key lime pie from scratch.

I am throwing together a last minute Thanksgiving dinner, as we were supposed to go on vacation but hubby has to work :( So I am frantically brining and spatchcocking a turkey I bought last night so we have a hope in hell of eating it before midnight tonight.

On the other hand, I actually love making my own cranberry sauce, and somehow I'm less of a piglet eating half a pumpkin pie at home than going back to a buffet line three times for pie. So a cozy T-day at home, after all, which is probably what we should have planned to begin with.

It's been lovely getting to know you in this short time!

I'll be spending the day at my grandparents' with my dad's sister's family, so it'll be small and great, since I love those relatives. The others live in and around Sacramento, and are getting too old to make the trip. (Is it weird to be thankful that I have a great-uncle recovering from surgery so he and his wife won't make it? I am thankful he's okay, but I'm thankful I won't have to spend time with them, too.)

I'm a turkey-mashed-potatoes-stuffing girl, though I now have to stay away from anything too creamy (thanks to my newly-developed lactose intolerance), which hopefully means all I have to skip is the green bean casserole - but I never liked that anyway.

What I'm really looking forward to after dinner is midnight madness at the mall. Not to really do any Christmas shopping, but more to check the sales and shop for myself. :)

I wish we would celebrate Thanksgiving, I always loved the symbolism of the holiday. Even though it's probably mostly like Christmas, where nobody even knows what it's worth anymore and is just there for the food. /sigh

Anyways, no turkey or apple pie for me. I'm jealous. D:
I hope you had fun though! ♥

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving! Ours was pretty low-key, just had my grandparents over for dinner at my house with the rest of my family. But my mom made ham instead of turkey! It was really good, but there's gotta be some kind of law against having ham instead of turkey on Thanksgiving.
