Happy Thanksgiving! to all my American friends.

And to everyone on my flist, I am thankful for you for all the fun, laughs, and support you give me. Thanks for playing along!

I'm spending the day at my cousin Jennifer's with my dad's family. (It is a HUGE family. Catholics--bah!) My mother made pumpkin pies, and I made an apple one. Erin (future sister-in-law) is making stuffing.

What is everyone else doing? What sort of yummy goodies are you making/looking forward to?

I wish we would celebrate Thanksgiving, I always loved the symbolism of the holiday. Even though it's probably mostly like Christmas, where nobody even knows what it's worth anymore and is just there for the food. /sigh

Anyways, no turkey or apple pie for me. I'm jealous. D:

The symbolism of the holiday does get a bit lost, especially since the traditional, nostalgic view of the holiday's origins just aren't supported by a modern reading of history. But so long as the focus is on family, sharing, and being thankful, it is a beautiful tradition to celebrate!

I did have fun! Thanks for the well-wishes. Next stop: Christmas goodies!
