Happy Thanksgiving! to all my American friends.

And to everyone on my flist, I am thankful for you for all the fun, laughs, and support you give me. Thanks for playing along!

I'm spending the day at my cousin Jennifer's with my dad's family. (It is a HUGE family. Catholics--bah!) My mother made pumpkin pies, and I made an apple one. Erin (future sister-in-law) is making stuffing.

What is everyone else doing? What sort of yummy goodies are you making/looking forward to?

which hopefully means all I have to skip is the green bean casserole - but I never liked that anyway.

*gasp* Blasphemy! That's my favorite. Unfortunately, I still haven't regained my sense of smell, therefore I couldn't really taste a lot of the food this year.

(Is it weird to be thankful that I have a great-uncle recovering from surgery so he and his wife won't make it? I am thankful he's okay, but I'm thankful I won't have to spend time with them, too.)

Trust me, I know how this goes! I have plenty of family I don't mind missing at the holidays. And some of them love, but they're just...so much work!

Oh, it is so tempting to buy all the stuff I need for myself during the Christmas sales...I do give in now and again. ;) I used to do the Black Friday shopping, but this year I'm looking forward to sleeping in and laying around the house!

Well, another great-uncle and -aunt came over, but I was in the craft room watching the parade and dog show, scouring the ads, and making jewelry (Nana pulled out all her beads, cords/wire, and old jewelry we could cannibalize from), so I didn't even see them until dinner! They're not really "so much work" to hang out with, but Aunt Doris is slowly losing her mind (possible Alzheimer's/dementia), so we just kind of smile and nod when she says things that have nothing to do with the topic at hand, and Uncle John would rather watch the game.

I'm too lazy to wake up early for Black Friday shopping, but I'm a total night owl, so staying up late I will do. :)

My grandmother is a lot of work. She's hard-of-hearing, and in the throes of Alzheimer's, so I spend a lot of time answering the same questions for her over and over again at top volume. And this year, with my right ear blocked due to illness, I couldn't hear properly either, so we made quite a pair. :)

Ooh, I love making jewelry! That sounds like a really good time.
