So, [livejournal.com profile] rachel2205 is a genius, and has started the comm [livejournal.com profile] sherlockhet to celebrate the co-ed relationships is a very slashy fandom! Head on over to read some quality boy/girl love! (I now feel like I need to write more Jim/Molly fic to fill the place up! THIS IS A VERY GOOD THING! ♥)

(Also: I want someone to write a story about what Mrs. Hudson and her husband got up to before he was naughty and sentenced to die!)

I would totally write the ridiculous Miami crime thriller I want to write about Mrs. and Mr. Hudson... but knowing me it would still manage to be gen. >.>

I would totally read that! and you could post it there for sure - it's not like it has to have ROMANCE in it. The whole being-married thing kinda gives it het cred ;)

I'd be worried about exploiting technicalities, but I should really be more worried that nearly everything I know about Miami and its crime comes from Burn Notice and CSI:Miami. (-;

At the risk of having to use the shifty-eyes emoticon again... I'm working on the ridiculous space opera thing. It's kind of taken on a life of its own.

Sweet--that fic is gonna be EPIC!

I am combing through [livejournal.com profile] dark_fest prompts and picking out the ones I think I want to write. Someone keeps making all of these "fairy tale fandom" prompts, and I...am kind of obsessed with dark fairytales!

I'm NGL, some of them are pretty weird. But I find myself going through them thinking, "Ew! No... Never would... wait a minute!"

I'm gonna have to go back and check their policy on anonymous authoring. :P

Oh, also: I think you need to get involved in this nonsense and fill some of the Glee prompts!

flkjagklgaljfalkjg why do you do things like this to me?! I can't walk past a multi-fandom promptfest without having to read every prompt. And to suggest I write Glee fic? Do you hate me? (Can it be done anonymously? One of these almost works... I think everyone would hate me just as much as the Homestuck fandom does, though. ^_^) There are a couple of delightfully awful prompts for other shows I wouldn't mind filling, though... hmm...

Perish the thought! As one of my bestest internet buddies, I merely desire your company in this exciting new writing endeavor! (And you do realize that alienating you from other fandoms so that I can have your fic all to myself is the plan, right?)

From the FAQ:

Can I participate anonymously?

You can submit prompts anonymously. If you want to write fic anonymously, the easiest way is probably to create a sock, but if you like, you can claim prompts in secret via PM or email, and the mods will post fic on behalf of anyone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Although now that I consider it, what use do I have for anonymity? It's not like that Ihave any sort of reputation to protect. I published FRANKENRORY under my own name, after all...

Psh, I need no help alienating myself from other fandoms! (I'd suggest you keep an eye out for me stumbling across Misfits fandom, but once I locate it I'm pretty sure I'll be ostracized pretty quickly once I field my "Simon should've been asexual" theory. (-; I'm pretty lucky the Sherlock fandom is awesome.)

Anonymous fic sounds like a lot of work. The only reason I care at all what's posted under my name is that I stupidly use the same name on Twitter and othersuch things, which some of my IRL friends know of, and though they're not linked it doesn't take much searching to find me. They generally know about my fic, but dark/weird stuff? Best to keep that under lock and key. As such, I've socked up... you know, just in case.

Also I've been kind of enamored with posting anonymous fic lately. All the fun of writing things, none of the nervousness about whether people are reading me into it/what it means when people comment (just nervousness about what it means when they don't... but there's no avoiding that one).

I'm pretty sure I'll be ostracized pretty quickly once I field my "Simon should've been asexual" theory.

That's probably a safe bet. I'm pretty sure most of fandom has a "everybody should be sexual all the time, with every other character and certain inanimate objects" theory. I'm sometimes guilty of this myself, sometimes, I'll admit. I blame hormones.

"I've socked up" is likely my favorite new phrase. If it's not trademarked yet, you should get on that! (I've just googled the phrase and its variants, and I'm pretty sure you're in the clear.)

It's not even really about how fandom is all about the sexytimes... the show itself cannot go ten minutes without a sex scene. (-; And Simon's storyline, as it is, kind of relies on him being sexual. But I just can't get over how much more interesting it would've been if he hadn't been.

The trademark office is going to have a restraining order against me soon if I'm not careful, I think. (-;

Only tangentially related, but one of my favorite stories to tell is a day I sat in the bus station and listened to a schizophrenic on the (pay) phone with the U.S. patent office trying to trademark his idea for "Minnesota Mint Soda". Go ahead, say it out loud: the more you say it, the more appealing it sounds! (My favorite part of the conversation is when he just started listing other foods named after places: "Boston Cream Pie...Texas Toast...New York Cheesecake..."

That does sound appealing... and it's fun to say.

It makes me kind of sad that I've gotten to the point where I don't even pay any real attention to people who're behaving strangely in public. I'm probably missing things like this all the time. (I stopped paying attention around the time I was living on the west side and had a guy on the bus point at me and yell "No!" then flee the bus, followed a couple of days later by a guy who stared me down and then exclaimed "You, too, will die!" before fleeing the bus. That was pretty much the end of headphones-free travel for me. Creeped me the heck out, though I was already a basketcase that year.)

(Edited while I was posting a reply!)

The only fic I've posted anonymously has been my fills for the kinkmeme, which I do to maintain plausible deniability should any RL people find this journal. (Also the reason I lock all entries with pics of me.) However, I have posted all of my fiction, including kinkmeme fills, on my AO3 account.

...save for just a couple fills that were dubiously-received, and I'm slightly iffy about claiming responsibility for...

...which is a shame, because one of them is one of my favorite things I've ever written!

(I actually thought I hadn't hit post yet and was still composing bits of my reply in my head while I was in the kitchen... so I figured, well, might as well add them.)

Most everything I've written since August has been posted anonymously (at least temporarily, like with Yuletide and the TGIO fics I've owned up to). I think I'm treating it like some kind of exercise or goal... like if I can get people to consistently like things they don't have a name tied to, I'm probably getting somewhere with my writing.

Hmmm... now I want to see this dubiously-received fic!

Before I go to bed, I will tell you how to find said fic. But first I will warn you: it's pretty dark, and fairly disturbing. Not knowing your tolerance for such things, I think it's fair to warn you. It contains non-con. (Though it's fairly brief toward the end.)

The prompt I wrote it for was: Amy/Prisoner Zero. (with Amy of age, please!)

He's had 12 years to get into her mind. One night, he takes over one of her sex dreams.

Summary: Amy has a Red Riding Hood-themed nightmare about the Doctor.

To be honest, I have no objective idea of how creepy or disturbing it is. If you choose not to read it, I don't blame you!

ETA Annnndd now I actually have to tell you how to find it! Go to http://www.delicious.com/killthefez and click on the Amy/Prisoner Zero tag.

I have a pretty high tolerance for dark, jsyk. I don't know why, really, though I rarely seek it out. It's just gratuitous smut that I tend to skim over.

So! That was dark and creepy, but... was very good. Quite very good. You kind of skirted the line that marks the edges of purple prose, but it made for a properly vivid dream atmosphere. Plus I think the way it ties into the fairy tale theme makes it even more super-creepy (fairy tales make for excellent darkness magnifiers--I think it's the fact that the ones most of us are familiar with are already rewritten versions of dark stories). The description of Rory as the Woodcutter was wonderful and the bit where (at least in my mind) everything went black-and-white gave me the creeps... plus the ending.

And that's a dubious reception? I only saw one comment that might be even somewhat lukewarm. It's not really worse than most dark fairy tales, and it's certainly not of dubious quality. Though I suppose it is kind of... well... dark. (-;

Nah, I don't tend to post original fiction online, in the vague hope that maybe SOME DAY I'll do something with them. Hmm... I do have some slightly fairytaleish things around on lj though. Let me see...

A variation on Sleeping Beauty; a queer fairytale based on the Labyrinthverse.
