Just a quick poll before I run off to work! Inspired by a gif someone posted on a friending meme and on a discussion thread elsewhere.

I have a general squick of anthropomorphism: assigning human qualities to animals and, occasionally, inanimate objects. How crazy am I? ("VERY!")

I agree with what a few other people have said: needs an "annoying" or "awkward" option. (Talking animals in live action: annoying. People in animal costumes: awkward.)

True...I was thinking more of my own personal spectrum of experience, which generally runs from, "Ok, I can handle this" to "Dear GOD, what the fuck is that?"

No nuance at all? (-; Though come to think of it, most of my reactions to live action animals/puppets/people in animal suits bypass the thing itself and land on "What the heck were their motivations for this?" On the other hand, I end up judging most cartoon animals on their own merits for some reason.

I tend to have the same reaction to stumbling upon people in animal costumes that most would have about finding a spider in their bathtub. I'd like to wonder "What the HELL were they thinking?", but usually my brain doesn't make it that far! :P

Ah, there we go. Now I have a point of reference. I was having trouble imagining the "Oh GOD no!" reaction, but now all I have to do is replace the man in a bear suit/CG animal atrocity with the giant roach I found in my bathtub at my old apartment. (-:
