HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!

So, how did you spend your New Year's Eve? Fun? Folly? Asleep before 11:00pm?

I had a very fun night of dancing and cheap champagne, and even found myself a nice boy to kiss at midnight (and several times thereafter...) Terrible dancer, though! :D

Bwahahaha, quite glad you asked. :D

Robert Jordan, 'The Great Hunt'. I'm rereading it after some fifteen years and it's absolutely pwning me. Amazing book.

Wow, reading the description for that book really takes me back! Just reading the character names reminds of all the ridiculously intricate and complicated fantasy stories I read as a teen. I LOVE getting lost in those kind of books.

The Wheel of Time is amazing. I haven't read anything past the seventh book - except to get the highlights - and it's had an enormous impact on me, my life, and my writing from THAT much of it.

I don't read quite as much fantasy as I used to - hard, crunchy, dense scifi and a lot of nonfiction takes its place - but I still keep a hand in it. I started reading the WoT when I mad last year... and realised "aha, definitely time to reread."

And oh man. It's a lot different now. Tougher, more complicated, more of that oof challenging gut-punch sensation I love now.
