Happy New Year!
Jan. 1st, 2011 01:44 pmHAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!
So, how did you spend your New Year's Eve? Fun? Folly? Asleep before 11:00pm?
I had a very fun night of dancing and cheap champagne, and even found myself a nice boy to kiss at midnight (and several times thereafter...) Terrible dancer, though! :D

Date: 2011-01-01 08:38 pm (UTC)Robert Jordan, 'The Great Hunt'. I'm rereading it after some fifteen years and it's absolutely pwning me. Amazing book.

Date: 2011-01-01 09:14 pm (UTC)I don't read quite as much fantasy as I used to - hard, crunchy, dense scifi and a lot of nonfiction takes its place - but I still keep a hand in it. I started reading the WoT when I mad last year... and realised "aha, definitely time to reread."
And oh man. It's a lot different now. Tougher, more complicated, more of that oof challenging gut-punch sensation I love now.

Date: 2011-01-01 08:19 pm (UTC)Did he dance like Eleven? :P

Date: 2011-01-01 08:29 pm (UTC)Not as creative as Eleven, and with worse rhythm! He kept pulling me off balance and twirling me into other couples. However, being sweet and not trying to grope me on the dance floor made all of that easily forgiven!

Dancing + cheap champagne + kissing lots sounds like a rad night.

Date: 2011-01-02 01:56 am (UTC)It was a rad night! All the more fantastic because it ended with Ramen noodles and teasing my friend about the hickey she got from a guy she brought home and THEN changed her mind about. Oops!

Date: 2011-01-02 01:58 am (UTC)the hickey she got from a guy she brought home and THEN changed her mind about: LOL. I love that she changed her mind. HILARIOUS. I love those conversations.

Date: 2011-01-02 02:07 am (UTC)The bestest, BESTEST part of that conversation? That the guy was in the other room (her bedroom, which is off the dining room) the whole time. I offered to go in there and give him the bad news, but she just kept shushing me.

Date: 2011-01-02 02:01 am (UTC)But my family feeling the irritation that builds with me being there avoided me after I put the little ones to bed. So I really should have read but instead I slept.
Happy New Year (again)! :D
