I loved those bits as well! I was especially please with the last line; it has such a note of finality about it. (And I'm sad to say my iTunes has composed a better ending to a poem than I've ever managed.)

The most awkward part is probably this glut of lines:

I leave Friday! I can't believe I only have three nights left to get everything in order. And this icon just reminded me that I have to pack a towel, since I'm staying in hostels. (-:

So exciting! I can't wait for pics and stories so I can live vicariously through you.

Packing is stressful--I seem to forget how to clothe and maintain my own hygiene every time I need to pack for more than a day or two and end up with a weird hodgepodge of useless and useful (but not strictly necessary) items shoved into a suitcase. Good luck, and bring a couple old pillowcases!
