Here's a math puzzle my student brought in yesterday. His math teacher gave it to the class as an exercise. I hadn't seen it before and had fun with it, so I thought I'd pass it on just in case there's any other puzzle geeks out there!

Directions: Place the numbers 1 through 8 in the grid below so that no two consecutive numbers are adjacent, either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.

It took me about 2 minutes to do it but I don't know how to send you the answer!

Starting top left:

3,5
7,1,8,2
4,6

There's more than one solution, but that works.

Gold star! I love puzzles, too: I'm always looking for ones that aren't devilishly hard that I can share with my older students. (Although most of them hate 'em. Pssh!)

There is more than one solution, but I think it's a sign that you came up with the exact same one that I did. Great minds, and such. ;)
