Music Meme

I snagged this off the journal of new friend middlegirl. Here's how it works:

The rules:
1. Open a music player.
2. Go to 'all music'/'library'.
3. Hit shuffle/repeat/randomise.
4. Find photos of the first 30 artists/bands that come up (no repeats and no cheating).
5. Have people guess who the artists/bands are.
6. Paste this in your journal and do it too, so I can have fun guessing as well.


It's a meme, and a game! PLEASE PLAY!



Ok, so it took me forever to put these pictures together, so I do hope people give guessing a try. I do realize it's possible to cheat *stern look*, but I trust y'all and am putting you on the honor system.

The selection turned out pretty well; I'm surprised that some of my more embarrassing music choices didn't show up. (One of these days I'll have to have a TMI confess fest where I talk about my love for melodramatic 80s pop.)

Some of these are going to be really hard, because I didn't know what half of these people looked like before I found the pics, and I'm a fan!

Also, it was a bit depressing how many of my music choices could be described by the phrase "non-descript hipster white boy(s)".

Oh, and I'd like to dedicate #12 to my homegirl rachel2205; I was highly amused when she came up in the selection. (ETA: Come on, Who fans, I left a BIG clue in #15!)

Now get guessing, then put together your own photo spread so I can give it a try! (If you're intimidated, cut the list down to ten maybe?) I'll post the answers in a couple days.

There are so many more of these I feel I should recognize, but I definitely know 5 is The Mountain Goats/John Darnielle, because of the immediate need I felt to give him a hug. And 10 is the Decemberists. (I was pretty sure of number one, but I cheated just to check, so I won't answer that one.)

Bang on! Again, I'm surprised no one else guessed him; I think he's one of the more recognizable faces on there.

Thanks for complimenting my music taste! I was pretty pleased with the artists that came up; the embarrassment factor could have been SO much worse! (Ke$ha, anyone? Show tunes?)
