It's been AGES since I've written any fanfic, but here's one I put together for eleventy_kink:

Title: More Than a Kissogram (Parts 1 & 2)
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Explicit sex; infidelity(ish). (Amy doesn't consider it infidelity, and neither do I, but...well, most people will.)
Characters/Pairings: Amy, Rory, Eleven, Original Female Character, Original Male Character; Amy/Rory, Amy/OFC, Amy/OMC
Part 1 ("The Confession") summary: There's something Amy never told Rory about her job: that if the price was right, she was more than just a Kissogram. After they marry, there comes a time when she has to confess.
Part 2 ("The Resolution") summary: "For as long as you want me, I am yours, but you have to remember: I am mine, too."
Story based on this prompt: There was something Amy never told Rory about her time as a Kissagram. She never told him the if the price was right she was more then willing to perform certain other 'services' for her customers, men and woman alike.

This story was written for Challenge 05 at she_is_to_me. It's an AU challenge, and the picture prompt that was my inspiration is included with the story.

As you might have guessed from the title, this is a sort of pastiche of the Frankenstein mythos. I first saw the original movie version of Frankenstein (with Boris Karloff) when I was 15. I watched it in a class called "Science Fiction and Composition". (I should definitely write about that class sometime, but not now.) I didn't read the novel until I took a class on Gothic literature in university. This story is sort of a mish-mash of popular Frankenstein legend, which I use as a jumping-off point.

This is a story that can't decide if it wants to be funny or dramatic, so it's both. At least, I hope so: it could be neither! Do let me know if that's the case. (Concrit, as always always always, more than welcome.)

First, exciting news: my story Where Two Paths Cross tied for first place in the second challenge at she_is_to_me! This was my first challenge, so I am over the moon. I know it was a small challenge, but I have so much respect for the talent over there, I am counting this as a big win. :) Thanks to everyone who voted for me! ♥

On a recommendation from doctoreleven I requested Lost in Austen from the library. The rec was made in a thread celebrating the works of Alex Kingston, and from what I could tell from what I was able to watch, she was awesome in it; but she couldn't save it for me.

I had a problem right away. In the opening monologue describing her life, the protagonist says, "I know I sound like a loser, but I do have a boyfriend!" ?!?! SERIOUSLY?! It's only made worse when we discover that the boyfriend is a stereotypical heel and Not Good Enough For Her, and she STILL uses his existence to justify her life. Why would a movie pandering to fans of Jane Austen be so unabashedly insulting to them?

So I didn't make it far into the movie.

Saturday, I went to the Dancin' On the Street festival in Detroit for The Heidlberg Project. (If you've never heard of the Heidelberg Project, it's a rather bold, and controversial, art and activism project in Detroit.) It was a ton of fun, and I'll post some pictures once I get them from my friend.

Finally, I've picked my first watermelon of the season and made some Sherlock icons for the bakerstreaders comm.
