I also started the process of making bread and butter pickles. (They have to brine in salt and ice for 8 hours.)

• The Doctor in a top hat and tails with a nifty cane! Huzzah!
  
• Weeping Angels, whut?!
  
• The Silence are back! And the impossible astronaut!
  
• RORY PUNCHES HITLER AND RIDES A SCOOTER! (With Amy on the back. Ok, that's just...cute! Undeniably cute.)
  
• Ep 11 looks all The Shining, and that makes the horror fan in me very, very happy!
  
• The Minotaur makes the Greek myth fan in me very, very happy.
  
• I'm just VERY, VERY HAPPY, OK?

Agh, those trailers! So much awesome! But I'm going to flail at you about River in an eyepatch because AUGH, I should've posted my theory on that when it occurred to me, but I was all "Oh, no one's going to pay attention anymore because it's been months since the finale and it's a crazy theory" BUT there is quite a bit of a family resemblance between her and the crazy eyepatch kidnappy lady. So my theory kind of became that is is the crazy kidnappy lady, because then she'd actually have a reason for apologizing for who she is all the time. And it'd be a total River thing to do, to take control of her own time stream like that, and to teach the Doctor an elaborate lesson (and bring him down, as she was trained to do). But now that it was used in a teaser trailer to make us think something exactly like that I'm sure it can't be the case. (-:

Also, is it me, or at the end there, after the prophecy about the astronaut, does the Doctor's visage look a bit more... plastic than usual? There's something kind of darker around the eyes. But I could just be imagining things because I want Doppeldoctor to come back.

I'm wondering a little why we've gotten a preview for episode 11 of all things, but I'm loving the labyrinthy/HotelHouse of Leaves thing it apparently has going on, so I'm not going to complain.

Also also: pickles! Yay!! So jealous! I have itsy bitsy tomatoes now, though, so I'm at least on the road toward salsa. ^_^

Actually wait, upon further consideration (or rather: I took a shower and it re-occurred to me), I seem to have misremembered my theory. The real one is way more crackpot. Amy-in-the-future, so upset at her powerlessness in regards to protecting her own child, grows up to be the eyepatch lady in order to kidnap her own baby away from the Doctor (forgetting that she herself is collateral damage--Moffat does love paradoxes) so she can be a mother properly... only by that point in her timeline she is so distraught over the loss of Rory as well it all goes a bit villainish-bonkers and isn't so much about enjoying time with her child so much as it is about... taking control of her own destiny/her child's destiny and getting revenge on the Doctor for so supremely screwing her life up. So obviously my new theory about Eyepatch!River has to be that it's a visual parallel and a hint, but beyond that it's just a tease. ^_^

I am always, always up for crazy theories about Who! I hoard them like diamonds. :P

But you know, it had never occurred to me about River being Eyepatch Lady! I might be able to see that family resemblence you spoke of, and I could definitely see River taking charge of her destiny like that, but the way eyepatch lady (who had a name but shall forever be Eyepatch Lady to me) was so cruel/callous toward Amy? I just couldn't see that from River. (And I think you're right: you just know your theory is screwed once it starts looking plausible/supported by the show!)

I didn't catch the "plastic-y" looked you mentioned, but there is something especially fucked-up about his eyebrows in that scene! (But if you interpret that as evidence that the Doppeldoctor is coming back, I am totally on board! I very much welcome his return as well. Actually, I think it's inevitable: the whole "we could survive this" line combined with the multiple Doctors in TIA? Doppy definitely will make a return!)

I don't know why we got a preview for ep 11! I think it's a testament to how used to this show messing with our heads we are that we're immediately suspicious. :P

Oh, another question to throw out there: what do we think of Hitler starring in a Who episode? Is there any possible way this can go down well?

Huzzah for the road toward salsa! Success is near. You've managed to resurrect one plant from the dead, and surely that is a sign of the coming Tomatotopia. :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was thinking House of Leaves, here. I mean, minotaur, scrawny dude raving in a decidedly Johnny Truant manner... any second the hallway's gonna start eating people.

I will be disappointed if the episode doesn't start playing upside-down or sideways or backwards or in Braïlle, even if I have no idea how that would work.

We'll see how these ones turn out! The dill pickles I made last summer were...not great. Part of the problem was the recipe called for a chili pepper in each jar, and I used my home-grown peppers, which pack QUITE the wallop: way too spicy!

THAT'S NO SCOOTER. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but 'vintage motorcycle' is definitely a better starting point than 'scooter'.

However everything is made better by the existence of Eleven in top hat, tails and a cane. And all the creepy hotel doings. I haven't got much in the way of speculation to offer, only flail at how plainly excellent this is all going to be.

Oops! Sorry--all things with wheels look alike to me. :P And in my defense, it was not the vehicle I was ogling, but rather the OMG FRICKIN' CUTENESS of Amy riding behind Rory on a whatever-the-heck-that-was!

It is going to be excellent, isn't it? We are in no way setting ourselves up for disappointment by over-hyping how excellent it's going to be, because we trust that Moffat and Smith and Gillan and Darvill and all our friends on the Who Crew are going to make it excellent, right?!

Here's my theory about River, which I have been mulling over since the last episode aired: I think she lied. I mean, think about it! It seems just like Moffat to let us think we finally know who River is, and it turns out she was lying all along and we still have no idea. I think Regenerating Girl = Melody, but Melody =/= River, basically. If she is, why doesn't she remember the events of TIA/DOTM? Also, remember what she said the first time we saw her in Silence in the Library:

Seems like it could be a clue, am I right? Even if I'm totally off, I can't wait to see what happens next.
