Me me me me me me
Apr. 25th, 2011 11:13 pmThe Rules:
1. People who have been tagged must write the answers on their blog and replace any questions they dislike with a new original question.
2. Tag eight people. Don't refuse that. Don't tag who tagged you.
I will not be bossed around by memes! No tagging for me, then. (I like getting tagged for these things, but I never know when other people enjoy it as well. For this meme, if you want to do it, consider yourself TAGGED. For future memes, if you're like me and always up for one, let me know and I'll add you to my "To Tag" list.)
(P.S. There will be an actual list. I don't have an "I like making lists" tag for nothing, people.)
(I'll italicize the questions I swapped in.)
01. Make a list of 5 things you can see without getting up. (I'll do you one better! Here are five things I can reach from where I'm sitting right now.)
- Pink-handled scissors
- One complete mitten and it's half-crocheted mate. Also pink.
- Page-A-Day calendar displaying the day March 15.
- Box of Edward Gorey illustrated notecards.
- Box of Seventh Generation chlorine-free, organic cotton tampons.
02. How do you style your hair?
Style? *snickers* I usually wear it down, but occasionally twist it back into a messy bun.
03. What are wearing now?
Brown sweatpants, green t-shirt, beige long-sleeved t-shirt, men's athletic socks.
04. What's your ringtone?
I have the basic "ringing phone" ringtone. I...hate ringtones. :P
05. What do you hear right now?
Pandora, which is currently playing "Shove It" by Santigold. We think you're a joke, shove your hope where it don't shine...
06. What do you like to do when it's raining outside?
During a thunderstorm, my favorite thing to do is go sit out on the front porch with my dad. He goes out there with a glass of bourbon, I take a Diet Coke, and we watch the lightning. Last summer, we figured out how far thunder travels in a second. Being freaks, he knew the speed of sound off the top of his head, and I was able to break it down to feet per second. (For the curious, it's about 1/5 mile or approximately 1,056 ft/second. Of course it depends on the air density, but that's a hyper-technicality. :P)
My dad is my nerd idol. ♥
07. Name a movie that makes you cry.
Homeward Bound. I'm not even kidding. Those animals get me every time! I recently watched Homeward Bound 2 in Chicago with my friend's stepkids, and yep: cried at that one, too.
08. Who's your favorite villain?
Gonna go with Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights.
09. Dog person or cat person?
I am, in general, an animal lover. I have no love for hamsters, and don't see the point of birds or fish as pets, but in general I approve of their existence. I love dogs, but they're too much work. I have a cat. Her name is Franny. (She's named after a J.D. Salinger character. /nerd) She's just affectionate enough to make a worthwhile pet, but independent enough that I can leave her alone for a weekend without worrying she'll tear the house apart.
10. If you came across £2000 (or other currency) would you keep it or turn it in?
I don't even know. Right now the idea of having £2000 ($3,301.40 American) is pretty damn tempting. However, I'd likely be torn apart by guilt if I tried to keep it.
11. What was the last thing you bought?
A pizza for dinner.
12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Oh man, everywhere. But probably Italy first.
13. Where do you see yourself in 5 minutes?
Brazil. Prove me wrong, internet: PROVE ME WRONG! :P
14. Last book you read?
The Tuesday Night Murder Club, by Agatha Christie.
15. What are you doing this weekend?
Going to a graduation party for a friend who's finishing her Master's program in landscape architecture. I feel like there's something else slipping my mind, but I'm pretty sure that's it...
16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
Gotta go with
17. If you could see any band, etc. etc. PICK A CONCERT!
Still really bummed I didn't see The Decemberists. I'd like to travel back in time and see their Hazards of Love tour.
18. What are you doing tomorrow?
Grocery shopping and working, a.k.a. LIVIN' THE DREAM. :P
19. What are you looking forward to the most?
Grad party, Splendour of the East show, Bell X1 concert--meeting my friend's new baby in July. :D

Date: 2011-04-26 03:39 am (UTC)Add me to the tag list. I like weird internet crap... and lists... sometimes I put easy things on my list just cause it's so much fun to cross things off. True story. Now ashamed and crawling back to my corner of the nets.

Date: 2011-04-26 03:46 pm (UTC)Glad you liked doing the meme! I tagged people and I always worry if people really want to be tagged, LOL. But I figure most people like something to help them procrastinate (aka me hehe).

Date: 2011-04-27 03:51 am (UTC)No thunderstorms? But this is unpossible! I love a good thunderstorm. The drizzly, gray, overcast crap weather we've been having lately, not so much...
You shall be tagged, next time tagging is required! :D

Date: 2011-05-01 05:04 am (UTC)BUT ARE THEY PINK?
He goes out there with a glass of bourbon, I take a Diet Coke, and we watch the lightning. Last summer, we figured out how far thunder travels in a second. Being freaks, he knew the speed of sound off the top of his head, and I was able to break it down to feet per second.
I am so jealous; that sounds too amazing for mere words. XD
Gonna go with Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights.
HE'S SUCH A DOUCHEBAG, OMFG. I almost threw my notebook at this one girl who kept trying to prove that he was good/nice/attractive/idek she was on crack in this one English discussion section I had.
Her name is Franny. (She's named after a J.D. Salinger character. /nerd)
*nerd fist bump*
Banjos are fuckin' cool.
DAMN STRAIGHT THEY ARE. Also, you can scare the everloving shit out of anyone who's seen that one movie (…which I have).
