So, Chicago was a lot of fun, and an overwheling success! I have pictures, but they're majorly suck-worthy due to the craptastic nature of my iPhone's camera. WTF, Apple, WTF? Anywho, I'll be sorting through, editing, and posting them sometime this weekend.

[livejournal.com profile] sherlockmas's Spring Into Sherlock festival is in full swing! Yay! So far, I'm really, really pleased with all the entries we've received and the traffic we're getting. I'll be making a Master Post for the fest soon, but in the meantime, head on over and catch up with what's been posted. Just about everything is made of splendour and rainbows, so you can't go wrong!

Up next: PIXIES CONCERT ON FRIDAY, with the inimitable [livejournal.com profile] planejane and her buddy [livejournal.com profile] kel_reiley. (Must get around to friending her!) I've been listening to Pixies music non-stop in order to prepare. I am SO READY.

Unfortunately, I have to be up early the next morning to drive my parents to the airport. According to my father, we have to leave at "10 to 6:00". Blech. My brain doesn't even begin to function until 8:00 am, but whatever.

They are taking a cruise to...somewhere. And Mexico. My mother booked the trip without realizing they were leaving the day before Easter Sunday. "Amy, you're going to be alone for Easter!" *blank stare* Yeah, that's not a problem: other than buying and consuming a Cadbury's Creme Egg in order to break my Lenten fast, I don't have any expectations for the holiday. I'll quite happily spend the day on my own, squeeing online over the new Doctor Who. (IT'S ALMOST HERE!)

What's new with you all, Flist of mine?

Way glad you have had both safety and fun in Chicago. :)

Can your parents drive themselves to the airport while you transition to wakefulness in Safe Mode?

Mr. Jobey keeps asking me what I want to "do" for Easter, since we are thousands of miles away from anyone very close. I have down fine-tuned my response: "'Doing Easter' -- baskets of candy if you're young enough and awkward chitchat with relatives you don't like if you're old enough. We can't do the latter, oh no. And let's face it, we do the former all year anyway."

I think this is definitely going to be the plan, especially since I don't want to listen to my father's helpful driving "suggestions" when I'm in a state of crankiness. :P

One of my students told me that whatever you give up for Lent gets put in your basket for Easter. Hence, he gave up chocolate. "So if you give up homework for Lent, you get a whole basket of it on Easter!" (I think I like his parent's thinking. :P)

Yay, no awkward small talk with relatives! No itchy panty hose, and early Church services, and having to buy flowers and Easter cards for elderly family members. I hope this doesn't sound too sentimental, but, "This is going to be the best Easter ever!" *sniff*
