jdbracknell put this together for her excellent 100 things challenge. (Which now has its own comm! 100things_index.) I plan on getting on with my 100 Ideas That I Had project just as soon as I scrape together two or more brain cells to have an idea. In the meantime, I could use a new "About Me/Intro" entry, so here we go! A questions meme-type thingy:



1. Call me: Amy, or Apple. I answer to either.
2. For a living, I: want to be a writer. For the moment, I am a math tutor, a grocery cashier, and a freelance copy editor. I have a degree in social work.
3. I share my life with: Many people (and a cat), but they only get a little bit of me. I quite jealously guard my alone time.
4. My musical soul mate is: I don't think I could ever pick just one artist or group to represent me and all of my musical tastes, but I have fostered a vicious fondness for this man for many, many years:

I hope that our few remaining friends
Give up on trying to save us
I hope we come out with a fail-safe plot
To piss off the dumb few that forgave us

I hope the fences we mended
Fall down beneath their own weight
And I hope we hang on past the last exit

5. My current crush is: Double-sided:

They're both so adorable and idiosyncratic, and just look at those smiles! ♥ Now, I am not into polyamory--I can't quite wrap my head around the idea of putting up with one other person on a regular and consistent basis, let alone two or more--but really, how's a girl to choose?!
6. An awesome comm I hang out at is: pulped_fictions, at which I am a mod! And sherlockmas, where I am also a mod! And zombi_fic_ation, where (you get the picture)...
7. If I were a crayon, I would be called: Every Color In The Box. Because seriously: look at my "what I do" list. I am not a person who can pick one career, let alone one color to represent me!
8. The fictional character I most identify with and why is: Elizabeth Bennett. I know, I know: very original, right? But it's true. I think I am kind and generous at heart, but sometimes I get carried away by my own cleverness (or desire to be clever) and start to think too much of my own powers of perception. I forget that most people can't be summed up at a glance. I admire and respect people who are always good, patient, and kind, but know in my heart I'd go mad if I ever tried to be one of them. Sometimes I'm the last to know my own heart. I'm both stronger and more fragile than everyone thinks I am. &etc.
9.Fandoms I frequent: Mostly Doctor Who and Sherlock, but I've dabbled in others.
10. Hypothetical: we have a date Friday night. You call to cancel, telling me your racoon has hepatitis. What’s the real reason you blew me off? I fancied a night in drinking root beer and watching silly videos on YouTube instead.
11. List five things you can see right now: A near-empty bottle of Gingerberry kombucha, a near-full bottle of nail polish remover, Elmer's glue, a pile of bobby pins, and my cat passed out on my bed.
12. You are in charge of the world – the entire world – for five minutes. You can wield the power of magic and physics and whatever other powers you want. What do you do? For five minutes, I'd like everyone to live inside the brain of someone else: someone you fear, someone you hate--someone you never thought about or never knew existed. I can only imagine what the world would be like if we all knew first-hand what it was like to be the people we think are the least like us.



That's the end of JD's questions. Since this is going to be my new About Me post, I just thought I'd throw in a quick summary of me: I am 30 years old. I am a bisexual lady-type person. I am an atheist. I am politically and socially very liberal. I like to cook, and garden, and knit, and craft--I LOVE music, and making things myself, and farmer's markets, and libraries, and Doctor Who, and Haribo gummy bears. I value honesty and respect. It doesn't bother me if you are very religious, or you are politically more conservative, or whatever. Everyone and anyone is allowed to disagree with me openly, but please keep in mind: my journal is a place for friends. If you find my ideas and opinions to be so wrong or so offensive that you cannot discuss them with me politely and respectfully, then you won't want to be my friend. That is fine! Anyone should feel free to friend or de-friend me as it suits you. (If you do friend me and want me to friend you back, please do say hello: on one of my public entries or in a PM. I like to know who my friends are!)
