Holiday cards!

Big thank yous to everyone who sent me a holiday card this year! I love them all, and seriously had a mini-squee attack each time one came in the mail. I've met the nicest, most generous, most creative people here on LJ, and I'm so thankful to have you all on my flist!

I am currently participating in the Winterval holiday challenge over at pulped_fictions. One of the challenges was to make holiday card images and ditties to post to the comm. I thought I'd share my creations with the rest of my flist. (Those of you who are also members of that comm, sorry for the repeats!)

So white and pure, that magic powder
gracing every card.
Well, just you wait ‘til January!
When that fluffy stuff turns hard!

You’ll slip, you’ll slide, you’ll break your neck—
you’ll lost your mind in traffic.
So just enjoy this lovely scene
before it makes you sick!





The cynic’s heart cannot endure
for long the nagging pull—
to laugh, to love, to give its all
and fill its chambers full.

To grasp a hand, to grant a wish—
to give without a reason;
who could ignore the call to find
true magic in this season?




Hustle and bustle and baking and fuss;
Catching a virus and missing the bus.
Cleaning, competing--there's c-words galore!
Too much 'gimme gimme!' and shouting for 'MORE'!

I've made a decision, I'm getting out now!
(Though I haven't decided just where, when or how...)
This Christmas I'm shunning trite consumer goods,
Forgoing the mall to get lost in the woods.
