YES! Absolutely! I've been using Gimp, and I quite like it! I've heard others complain about it, but they were mostly Photoshop users who couldn't get used to the new controls. Since I have no experience with any other program, I think it works all right!
So far, I've been making graphics for the pulped_fictions "Holly-Day" card challenge. So far, I have a couple I'm quite enamoured with!
