That list always frustrates me. For one, I've read about 25% of it (them's a lot of books, lol), and several of the books included in the 1001 are in my "terrible, never read again" pile. But other people LOVE those same books.
For another, it astounds me how many books I haven't read and would never even have heard of but for the list. I like to think of myself as a reader, but I think I'm just sort of a hack, really. ;)
"Where the hell are my keys?" is heard around our household at least twice daily. It's too bad just its constant recitation doesn't have some meditative or restorative value, lol.
