I have been tagged for a meme by [livejournal.com profile] middlegirl.

Instructions:
1. write down every letter of your name.
2. then type a song that pops up in your mind in each letter of your name as the first letter.
count the letters of your name, and tag that many people.

Considering my first name has three letters, this should be quick!

A - "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers
M - "Moondance" by Van Morrison
Y - "You Send Me" by Sam Cooke

I tag [livejournal.com profile] sabriel75, Miss [livejournal.com profile] evilhippo, and [livejournal.com profile] jesterjoker, because I do believe the three of you might have fun with it. I also tag anyone else who wants to do it, because squeeing about music in people's comments is always fun.

I love those songs! I don't want to reveal my name - so I'll go with Jane.

J - Jump - Pointer Sisters (IKR???)
A - April, Come She Will - Simon & Garfunkel / American Pie - Dom Maclean
N - Nights In White Satin - Moody Blues
E - Ever Fallen In Love With Someone - Buzzcocks

Here - have a video!

Moondance is my favorite Van Morrison song, hands down. ♥ ♥ And Sam Cooke! He has such a lovely voice. I think Blue Moon is my favorite of his.

Squeeing about music is definitely fun, so I decided to do it as well! I'm too lazy to make it into a whole post so I'm just going to put it here:

J - Jumpin' Jack Flash - The Rolling Stones
E - Evening on the Ground - Iron & Wine
S - See These Bones - Nada Surf
S - Some Riot - Elbow
I - I Feel Fine - Darker My Love
C - Cocaine - Eric Clapton
A - American Woman - The Guess Who

(Also, your card came in the mail today. Thank you! It was lovely. :) You're way ahead of me as far as getting holiday stuff done goes - I'd blame it on being sick this past week, but I'm a terrible procrastinator, lol.)

I'm going to use my username (more fun letters that way), and go with whatever the first thing that comes to mind is.

E: Everything Right is Wrong Again - They Might Be Giants
V: Violent Dreams - Jump, Little Children
I: Idiot Kings - Soul Coughing
L: Lake Song/New Ceremonial Music for Moms - Akron/Family
H: Hoppipolla - Sigur Ros
I: In an Operetta - Magnetic Fields
P: Pot Kettle Black - Wilco
P: Poison Flowers - Mono Puff
O: Open Book - Cake

Moral of the story: the first songs that come to mind are generally about ten years old. I wonder if this is a sign of some kind of short-term memory problem. (-;

Also, as far as acrostics go I've definitely done worse.

I love that Buzzcocks song! The Noisettes do a good cover of it. And I am ever-so-proud to have "Nights in White Satin" attached to my journal. ;)

The 'D' in Don Maclean ended up looking like part of the name, so I thought you'd chosen "Jadne". I thought, "That's a pretty random name for her to choose..." (I'm having a bit of a dense life week!)

You are welcome! I thought, "This is the year that cards HAPPEN! IT SHALL BE DONE!" (I can't tell you how many times in the past I've gone so far as to buy the cards, and then just never send them!)

Nada Surf! Blast from my past. (The only song of theirs I really remember is "Popular", which I still have in my iTunes. I know they're making new stuff, but I still remember them from high school!)

Good choices!

Bah, look at you! Going for the challenge and using your username. I did mine about ten minutes before I left for work. Sometimes it comes in handy to have a really short name.

YOU LIKE WILCO AND CAKE!♥ (Also, I just re-discovered Hoppipolla the other day--was it in a Who fanvid??? If not and it's just a coincidence, I'm going to call it a sign and insist that you marry me.)

Whoa, I received a tag so I will play. :D

R - Reflection, Hayashibara Megumi
Y - Blasted hell, this isn't easy. Yanmaani! The title is actually "Nowhere" but that nonsense word is the driving thrust of it. I lurve Yuki Kajiura.
A - Amerika, Rammstein
N - Nothing Ever Dies, Kamelot. Kamelot's always in my brain. They have twisted me. Bog.

Rammstein always reminds me of a housemate I used to have in college! I lived in a co-op, and there was about 20 of us, and we all took turns cleaning the kitchen. When it was Andre's turn, he always blasted the Rammstein. Nothing like Du Hast to help you clean the dishes!

S ~ Somewhere/Within Temptation
A ~ A Thousand Suns/Linkin Park
B ~ Balance Beam/Blue October
R ~ Run To You/Rasmus
I ~ Invincible/Muse
E ~ Everything for Free/K's Choice

Didn't think you would get a response from me, did you? Hee! I finally found time in between wrapping gifts and getting packages ready to post.

I knew you'd do it--I HAVE FAITH IN YOU! ;) Thanks for stopping by. :) (I SHOULD be busy, but...yeah, wasting time on LJ is so much more fun...)

Big thumb's up to Muse. Gotta listen to more from them.

Hoppipolla just came to mind unbidden; I actually hadn't heard it for quite some time. Obviously we are just somehow on the same mental wavelength here.

And good news! Illinois almost has civil unions (just needs the gov's signature), and that's kind of like marriage, so I can almost accept your proposal. ^_^

Someday our (very curious but no less valid) love will be recognized by the state!

Until then...

Have you heard anything about The Decemberists new album? I keep meaning to look it up...I wonder if it's going to be thematic like The Hazards of Love?
